Many people in my life are unique- in their job, where they
have lived, and I love them for their differences. Because of this, I don’t
approve of discrimination and believe that all people deserve acceptance. With
asexuality and aromanticism, it is a lack of knowledge about their perspective
that prevents them from being accepted like others in the groups of LGBTQ have
been (mostly).
I first heard about asexuality in an educational YouTube video a year or two ago, in a video on the channel Scishow. I understood and supported the idea of nonsexual relationships but had not really given the idea much thought since. Once Emily brought up the idea of asexual and aromantic awareness, I immediately supported the idea. I am still unsure of my own sexual orientation, but I support all forms of love, no matter what gender, so if people who hold these ideas are being discriminated and misunderstood, I am ready and willing to help.
